DC
comics introduced a stunning character, Wonder Woman, within its previous
mediocre feature film of DC Extended Universe (DCEU), “Batman v Superman: Dawn
of Justice”, and her individual film was released on June 2, 2017 to rock the
world with woman power.
Based
on the story of one of DC’s most popular superheroes, as well as one of the
founding members of Justice League, Diana (Gal Gadot), the princess of the
Amazons, trained warrior, this adventurous action fantasy talks about what
happened before she was Wonder Woman. When a pilot, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine),
crashes and tells her people about the wars happening in the outside world,
Diana leaves home with Steve to fight a war to end all wars, and discovers her
full powers and true destiny and identity.
“Wonder
Woman” is released in a 4-DX version as well. Unlike “Doctor Strange” with
which the audience barely feels anything from the fall and punch, moviegoers
can actually “getting bashed” when the characters fight accordingly in the
flick.
Marvel aficionados
are possible to be crazy about “Wonder Woman” as how they’re in love with
Captain America since Diana is also someone who’s willing to step to the very
front of a battle to fight for her beloved ones and fellow citizens. The same
patriotism is carried out through the flick to make people cry.
Many
people go to the theater because of being fond of the Israeli leading actress, Gal
Gadot, while Chris Pine, the leading actor, looks attractive in the motion
picture as well. Just as his outfit in the works he’s known for, the “Star Trek”
series, Pine wears uniform of pilot which makes him as dashing as Captain Kirk.
Aside
from its background of DC Comics, the titular character herself is based on an
Amazon princess in Greek mythology; thus, there’s a bunch of elements related
to mythology that the audience might find similar to movies like “Percy Jackson”
or “Thor”. Gods such as Poseidon or Zeus love to have kids all over the world,
and Diana’s never shy to express her curiosity toward everything in the outside
world just as Thor’s first trip coming to the Earth.
Besides
Greek mythology, English majors or literature enthusiasts will be cheerful
finding some lines paying tribute to Shakespeare, and some puns can also be
found in the picture.
“Wonder Woman” is an amazing feature film as a whole,
and apparently the best superhero film in 2017 so far. Of course Marvel’s “Spider-Man:
Homecoming” and “Thor: Ragnarok” are waiting later this year, but for now,
Diana and Trevor are telling you “it’s about what you believe.” Just believe in
“Wonder Woman.”
