Wars: The Force Awakens was directed by Emmy Awards winner, Star Trek critically acclaimed director
J.J. Abrams.
Being a Star Wars fan himself, Abrams
successfully built the alteration of generations in the motion picture. Cheering,
enthusiastic applause is heard in the cinema whenever characters from previous
story line such as Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and
R2-D2 show up.
As the tag line addresses, “Every
generation has a story,” the plot is about a new threat, the First Order, has
risen after the defeat and fallen of the Galactic Empire three decades ago.
While the First Order is attempting to rule the galaxy, with the help of the
Resistance, a rag-tag group of heroes tries to stop them.
Since Star
Wars: The Force Awakens marks the next era in the Star Wars world, several
new roles are introduced through the compelling structure. Young actor and
actress as Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) soon received fans’ love
with their amazing acting skills. Not to mention the adorable droid BB-8
captures the audiences’ attention throughout the movie.
Besides familiar characters, fans can
recognize elements that are made to pay tributes to former franchise pictures. Also,
the archetypal opening with summary of antecedent conveyed in yellow distant
galaxy font and classic Star Wars music
conducted by John Williams definitely arouse a wave of nostalgia for the
initial trilogy and all the good old memories.
Although the lightsaber combat scenes are
not as choreographic as they used to be, the excitement of the fights doesn’t
decrease at all. Unlike three mediocre prequels, the pace of Star Wars: The Force Awakens is energetic,
tight and well-knit. Continuous laughs and gasps are heard while audiences enjoying
their journey back to the joy watching Star
Wars feature films.
Contradiction between father and son or master
and apprentice is seen in all Star Wars films.
Therefore, along with the story line fighting against First Order, the theme of
the motion picture is protagonists pursuing their family love which helps
completing the plot.
