A season before Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock’s action thriller “Bullet Train” is released, Bullock released a feature film of which she is one of the two producers. “The Lost City” may not be the most amusing comedy you’ve ever seen, but if you just want to relax a little bit, it is the perfect choice.

Casting the award-winning actress, Sandra Bullock, one of the sexiest men alive, Channing Tatum with Brad Pitt’s cameo, “The Lost City” has been looked forward to by a bunch of audience for a long time. This adventurous action comedy tells the story of a lone romance novelist, Loretta, on a book tour with her cover model, Alan, when she gets kidnapped by a strange collector and lands them both in a cutthroat jungle adventure.

There are several films and TV series about ancient civilizations recently, including “Uncharted” and Marvel’s latest Disney+ series “Moon Knight.” Maybe mysterious ancient adventures and treasure hunting are comeback genres we’re going to see from Hollywood soon. With this kind of topic, a villain is crucial. Their motivations and how they get what they want are the climax of the flick. Although the villain isn’t very essential in “The Lost City”, Daniel Radcliffe managed to portray the character as a weirdo. Moviegoers won’t be scared by the character but will be looking forward to every scene he’s in because it’s comical.

Big fans of Brad Pitt can be satisfied watching “The Lost City.” Even though he’s only a cameo in the motion picture, his parts are much longer than the one he did in “Deadpool 2.” Besides, since the other two main characters are not meant to be in the jungle, he’s the only one who actually knows what he’s doing, so if you want to watch “The Lost City” for Brad Pitt’s charisma, you won’t be disappointed.

Though there aren’t many clever lines in “The Lost City” to make moviegoers laugh, there are many absurd contrasts in the movie which still amuse people. After all, “The Lost City” is still a comedy. Although the plot is predicable, the picture itself is daft, delightful and enjoyable.

The English idiom says, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Since Loretta is a romance novelist, she should know this by heart. However, the audience will witness how Loretta learns the meaning of this sentence in “The Lost City.” Also, this idiom can be said as one of the main themes of the feature film. Therefore, don’t judge it before you actually watch it.

All in all, there are full of surprises, and just like the directors said, “The Lost City” is exactly what the world needs after the pandemic, so just enjoy it. If you walk into this jungle as if you’re a sheet of white paper, you might uncover a relaxing comedy in “The Lost City.”
